2025 Standard Rates
Rates are posted in Canadian Dollars (CAD).
Rates are based on single or double occupancy (one or two guests).
An Additional Guest Surcharge of $30 per night per person applies after the first two guests.
GST (5% federal sales tax) & PST (8% provincial sales tax) are additional.
MRDT (Municipal and Regional District Tax) does not yet apply to sales of accommodation in Field.
Rates, fees, and taxes are subject to change without notice and will be confirmed at the time of booking.
Additional Fees and Charges
Excluding reservation deposits, a 3% convenience fee will be applied to credit or debit card payments.
A $350 cleaning fee will be charged to your credit card if you violate our 'no smoking' or 'no pets' policy.
A cleaning or damage fee of up to $500 will be charged to your credit card if the apartment, or its contents, require additional cleaning beyond the norm or if there is any damage, including non-easily removed or permanent stains to fabrics or hard surfaces.
To date, the guest house has not charged any guest additional cleaning or damage fees.
Making a Reservation
To avoid disappointment, make reservations well in advance, especially during peak seasons or holidays.
Before Booking
Review our Booking Terms, Policies, and Conditions to ensure our accommodation meets your needs. This information will help you make an informed decision.
Reservation Deposit
A deposit equal to one night's stay is required to guarantee your reservation. Deposits may be refunded according to the cancellation conditions.
Secure Online Reservation Process
Click the 'Book Now' button to to go to our Booking Page. From here you can check availability, get a quote, and reserve your stay.
Click 'Select stay dates', enter the number of guests, and click 'Search'.
Click 'Book Now' under your preferred apartment. You will find a quote for your stay, and the reservation deposit amount under the Order Summary section.
To continue to check out first select the Property Policies link to be directed to our Reservation Policies page.
Having read and agreed to the Property Policies you can fill in the Guest Details section and click 'Continue to Check Out' to be directed to a secure payment portal.
To complete your booking, provide your Payment Information and click 'Complete Checkout'. Alternatively, you can choose to arrange an offline payment with Mt Burgess Guesthouse after booking by selecting the 'Offline Payment' option.
Telephone Reservations
Call or text us at (250) 272-1772 or email stay@mtburgessguesthouse.ca. If booking by email provide your phone number so we can call you for your credit card information.
Mt Burgess Guesthouse does not store your credit or debit card details. This information is safely stored with our payment channel provider.
Cancellation Policies
15 or More Days Before Arrival: Cancellations are subject to a $75 Cancellation fee. The remaining balance of your deposit will be refunded.
7-14 Days Before Arrival: Cancellations or date changes may result in your deposit being non-refundable.
On or After Arrival Date: Cancellation or changes may result in charging the full remaining balance of your original reservation to your credit card.
No Shows: Treated as cancellations.
Refunds
Refunds are processed as quickly as possible. You will receive the full amount paid, minus any applicable cancellation fee.
Refunds are issued to the original payment method. The time it takes to receive a refund may vary based on the card type, merchant, and return method.
Once issued, a refund will appear in your credit or debit card account or be sent via e-transfer within 5-10 business days.
Additional Information:
The standard $75 cancellation fee covers administrative and payment processing costs. Processing fees implemented by our payment channels include fraud protection, bank fees, reporting, etc. In the case of a cancellation, these processing fees are not refunded.
Trip Cancellation & Trip Interruption Insurance typically covers cancellation fees if a trip is unexpectedly disrupted. See your policy for terms and conditions and its claim process.
Refunds
We do our best to process refunds quickly. The full amount paid less a cancellation fee, if applicable, will be refunded. Once the refund is issued, depending on your original payment method, you should see the funds back on your credit card or in your bank account or receive an e-transfer within 5-10 business days.

Future Stay Credits
If you cancel your reservation and are charged the standard $75 Cancellation Fee, $50 will be converted to a transferrable Future Stay Credit of equal value. As long as we are operating the guest house your Future Stay credit will not expire.
Future Stay Credits issued during the COVID-19 pandemic.
For guests whose reservations were cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns during the pandemic, your $50 cancellation fee was converted to a transferrable Future Stay Credit of equal value. As long as we are operating the guest house your Future Stay credit will not expire. If you book your Future Stay before October 1st, 2024, we will freeze our 2020 rates and apply a further 5% discount.
Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption Insurance can reimburse non-refundable deposits on pre-paid travel arrangements and cancellation penalties.

The property is 'Adult-Oriented' with limited facilities for Children
Many guests adore children and maybe parents themselves. But, on holiday, they seek the quiet of an 'Adults Only' style of accommodation.
We are delighted to accept reservations that include mature children who behave impeccably well.
When making a reservation, please book Mature Children as additional Adults
Mt Burgess Guesthouse is committed to providing its guests with a smoke-free environment.
No smoking, of any kind, or disposal of used tobacco products, is permitted anywhere within the entire property;
There are no designated smoking areas on the property;
Violation of our ‘No Smoking’ policy is defined as using or disposing of any tobacco products, including e-cigarettes, and other non-combustible tobacco products, on or within the Mt Burgess Guesthouse property;
Failure to comply will result in a significant room recovery fee to cover the extensive cost of restoring guest suites to a smoke-free condition;
The fee for violating the 'No Smoking' policy is $250. This amount will be charged to your credit card.

We offer guests a 'Pet-free Environment'
As much as we love them pets are not permitted on the property
Parking throughout Field is free. Look for street parking in front of the guest house.
Remember to hang your Parks Canada Pass on your rearview mirror before leaving your car anywhere in the National Parks and this includes Field.
The reservation holder (lead guest) must present valid photo ID and a credit card at check-in. Any service fees, reimbursements, or incidental charges not included in the room rate may be charged by the guest house to the lead guest at checkout.

Groceries: The closest small grocer is The Village Market, in Samson Mall, Lake Louise. Posted hours: daily 10:30 am to 6 pm. For greater variety and better prices, shop Golden, Banff or Canmore.

Parks Canada reminds visitors that they are sharing the park with wildlife. Use special caution when observing wildlife in their natural habitat. Give them space.
While spending time in the park, maintain strict control of all food waste and containers. Dispose of them only in bear-proof bins located throughout the park.
Ensure barbecues are cleaned after every use.
Maintain a well-kept back yard or day site free from bear attractants.
Plan, check important bulletins and obey all posted warnings, closures and restrictions.
Reduce your risk of wildlife encounters and be prepared:
Bears are active day and night.
Do not approach bears. Always keep 30-metres distance.
Always keep dogs on a leash.
Make noise, especially in meadows and near creeks.
Travel in tight groups.
Trail running and cycling place you at higher risk. Travel slowly. Do not wear noise cancelling headphones or earbuds.
Watch for fresh bear signs such as scat and diggings.
Carry bear spray, make it accessible and know how to use it.
If you see a bear, stay calm, back away slowly and leave the area. Never run.

Backcountry Avalanche Terrain
What do you need to know?
During winter, storms can deposit significant amounts of snow on top of a weak layer, creating an avalanche risk. Even when natural avalanche activity slows, human-triggered avalanches are highly possible.
You don’t need to venture deep into the backcountry or get off trail to be in avalanche terrain. Before you set off, check the Avalanche Canada forecast map and ensure you know the trails, area, and terrain. If you are not prepared to travel in avalanche terrain, do not go beyond the avalanche signage on popular trails.
If you are planning to travel into the backcountry this winter, you are responsible for your safety. You must carry and have the training to use essential rescue gear such as a transceiver, probe, and shovel.
Manage risk by making conservative terrain choices and choosing smaller objectives. Stay away from steeper overhead slopes and opt for lower-angle slopes.

Avalanche Canada, in collaboration with Parks Canada, Kananaskis Country, and Emergency Management and Climate Readiness BC, issue Special Public Avalanche Warnings for recreational backcountry users across BC and Alberta during extreme weather conditions.
